The long run
I wore these at Tarawera 50, which tells you most of what you need to know about how much I trust them. You don't put untested gear into a race that size, and these have never once given me a reason to think twice about them.
The waistband is the whole story here. It simply doesn't move. I've never had to hitch these up mid-run, never had that nagging awareness of a waistband slipping that so many tights give you an hour or two in. Once they're on, they're on, and I stop thinking about them entirely, which is exactly what you want from anything you're wearing for fifty kilometres.
What surprised me is how much give there is through the legs despite how secure the waist feels. There's real stretch there, plenty of room to move properly through a stride without the tight fabric fighting you on climbs or descents. The compression is noticeable, but it's in the right places, supportive without ever feeling restrictive, which is a harder balance to strike than it sounds.
These have become my go-to for the colder months specifically. There's enough substance to the fabric that they hold a bit of warmth without turning into an overheating problem once you're moving, which makes them the tight I reach for once the mornings start getting properly cold.
The pockets deserve their own mention. They're genuinely excellent, secure enough that I've never worried about anything shifting or dragging the tights down, which has been a real problem with other tights I've owned. Whatever's in them stays exactly where you put it.
